We had beautiful sunny weather in Edale and 3 eager participants after a few people withdrew.

We had fantastic weekend and were able to do a lot of activities due to the smaller group - Crate Tower, Leap of Faith, Raft Building, Canoeing, Night Walk and Jacobs Ladder.

Everyone performed very well and the group worked together to beat the Hostel record for highest crate tower - 25 crates high! There is still the staff record of 32 to beat and we're working on it...

The raft building was impressive with the group designing and constructing the raft without any help from the YHA staff! Unfortunately half of the raft came apart which meant some people getting wet but it stayed together to allow us to get back to shore.

We tried Jacobs Ladder for the first time which was challenging but everyone performed well and we reached the top with no accidental falls!

See the photos from the weekend below:

We will advertise when the next LOT Weekends are on, please check back for more information!

Funding received for Deaf Duke of Edinburgh Award Group!

Deaf Communities Forward has been successful in receiving £2000 funding from the Jack Petchey Foundation to support its Deaf Duke of Edinburgh Award Group in London and Essex.

We are working with deaf schools in London to deliver this pilot project for deaf young people in London.
