Funding received for Deaf Duke of Edinburgh Award Group!

Deaf Communities Forward has been successful in receiving £2000 funding from the Jack Petchey Foundation to support its Deaf Duke of Edinburgh Award Group in London and Essex.

We are working with deaf schools in London to deliver this pilot project for deaf young people in London. Please contact us for more information, or check this website.

Leaders of Tomorrow September 19th - 21st 2008

We are now taking applications for our Leaders of Tomorrow Level 1 Weekend for September 2008.



September 19th - 21st 2008
8 spaces total, first come first served!
Deadline for applications is 12th September.

The weekend is FREE - food, accommodation and activities are all included and will refund travel for you to get to Edale in the Peak District.

You will learn about teamwork and start to learn about becoming a leader. We will do exciting outdoor activities such as the crate climb and rafting!

Sign Language Interpreters are provided and staff at Edale YHA can sign!

The weekends start at 6pm on Fridays with dinner and icebreakers. We will finish at 2pm on Sundays after lunch so you can travel home.

Funding received for Deaf Families Group!

We have received £1000 funding for the Croydon Deaf Families Group from the Tesco Community Awards.

This will go towards allowing Croydon Deaf Families Group to access training, buy equipment and arrange trips for all the parents and children involved.

More news and information when we have collected the cheque.

Deaf Camp 2008 Photos

We had a fantastic week at Deaf Camp 2008 despite mixed weather, which didn't stop us all having fun!

Deaf Camp 2008


We had 30 children and 19 staff all camping out in Walesby Forest and experiencing all the fun that was on offer. There were activities such as:

Climbing
Rafting
Kayaking
Long range archery
Air-rifling
Human football
Orienteering
Inflatable slide and assault course
