Leaders of Tomorrow 2009

Leaders of Tomorrow will be continuing for 2009, and dates will be advertised shortly. You will also be able to download the new application form and poster when they are finished.

I will get in touch with you about the next Level 2 so you are able to join us to learn more leadership skills and get ready to volunteer for Deaf Camp 2009!

Duke of Edinburgh's Award groups underway!

We have two Bronze Award groups now being run at two deaf schools in London - Blanche Nevile in Harringey and Oak Lodge in Wandsworth with the help of 3 teachers who have now completed their Award Leader training.

DCF will be supporting the two groups to complete their Bronze Award which will include an Expedition at the end of the 2009 academic year. The sections the groups will be doing are:

Volunteering - undertaking service to individuals or the community.

Physical - improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities.

Skills - developing practical and social skills and personal interests.

Expedition- planning, training for and completion of an adventurous journey in the UK or abroad.

I wish both groups the best of luck and I look forward to working with them!
