Back from a fun LOT Weekend

We had a fantastic weekend at Edale YHA with our second Level 1 Group.

The weather was very changeable - sunny in the morning, cloudy at lunchtime, then pouring with rain in the afternoon! This didn't stop us having a great time raft building, doing some crate-tower building and indoor games.


There were 8 participants from all over the UK who came to Edale for a weekend learning about teamwork and leadership - and having fun!

LOT Weekend 28-30 March 2008

We will be inviting people from each Level 1 Weekend to attend our Level 2 in July. Please respond as quickly as you can if you hear from us so we can give places to those who want to come.

NEW Deaf Duke of Edinburgh's Award Group!

Deaf Communities Forward have received £2000 funding from the Capital Community Foundation to start the first Deaf Duke of Edinburgh's Award Group in London.



Rosie and Jamie received the cheque at the Barclays Bank Head Office in Canary Wharf in London. We had fantastic views from the 30th floor!

We are looking for 14 young deaf people aged 14 to 25 who live in London to start their Bronze Award in September 2008. There will be 2 groups of 7 people each who will support each other with help from us at DCF.

Apply for our LOT Weekends!

We are now taking applications for our Leaders of Tomorrow Level 1 Weekends for 2008.

The weekends are free - we pay for food, accomodation and will refund travel to get to Edale in the Peak District.

You can download the information and application forms from the box to the right.

The dates for the Level 1 Weekends are:
March 28th - 30th 2008.
8 spaces, first come first served!
Deadline for applications is 14th March.

September 19th - 21st 2008
8 spaces, first come first served!
Deadline for applications is 5th September.

The weekends start at 6pm on Fridays with dinner and icebreakers. We will finish at 1pm on Sundays after lunch so you can travel home.

If you have finished your Level 1 we are inviting you to come on our Level 2 Weekend in July which will have more challenging activities! Please contact us for an application form.

The date for the Level 2 Weekend is:
July 4th - 6th 2008
